Brief: New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing introduced a brand: 'Love Racing' to portray a unique and beautiful perspective of the sport. The brand focuses on racing lifestyle; The Thunder, The Theatre and The Moment. 

Our brief was to create a series of videos, shot primarily during Cup Week in Canterbury as well as in Auckland to showcase the thunder, theatre and moment of New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing.

 

How:

It was really important that we were able to show both front of house and behind the scenes to portray the adrenaline and emotion of racing in a new, clean and modern way. 

Filming Cup Day at the Riccarton Racecourse is a challenge in itself with more than 18,500 people in attendance. But with our range of professional equipment, we were able to move from the jockeys weigh-in room, to the stables, out onto the track as the horses raced past and through the fashion of the crowd to capture all of the moments of the day both from the ground and the air.

We also had the unique opportunity to film early morning training, even horses in the dedicated training aquatic facility! As well as some willing punters putting the final touches onto their outfits before heading to the track.

The videos were created to be used both through online media (social and website) and on the large screens at the track at an Auckland Race Day in.....
